BridgePark RVA

Sometimes, an idea is just too good not to be implemented, and BridgeParkRVA is one of those ideas. Led by local philanthropist, Ted Elmore, the BridgeParkRVA concept is to build a unique and green pedestrian bridge from roughly the Manchester Climbing Wall to the Kanawha Plaza.

The bridge will not be just a bridge, but something far more. The concept of BRIDGE + PARK, while a new one for Richmond, can be found in other metropolitan areas in the US. When completed, the project will offer a pedestrian passageway across Richmond’s greatest natural resource and provide spaces to meet, collect, relax and otherwise connect with one another and to the James River.

About Manchester

In the early 2000’s, Old Town Manchester contained less than 20 residential addresses. Today, the number measures in the thousands — and there is more growth on the way.

For many reasons — access to Downtown and the River, its official historic designation, a fabulous array of raw warehouse structures, visionary developers — Manchester has become a favored destination for those who choose to embrace the new version of Richmond.

The industrial nature of the neighborhood means a diversity of architecture, size and scale in the many structures that define the area. From the Corrugated Box Building, 800 Semmes and Warehouse 201 to the incredible development that is South Plant, this gritty and authentic historic neighborhood is quickly fulfilling its destiny as Richmond’s version of Brooklyn.

And with a the incredible rate of redevelopment within its borders, Manchester is just beginning to see the array of amenities that will drive the ‘Manchester Lifestyle’ for years to come.
